- I am from Gilbert, Arizona and I have wanted to be a music therapist since I was a junior in high school. I started my music therapy education at Arizona State University where I learned many valuable lessons and met amazing therapists and students. I volunteered at Higher Octave Healing Music Therapy Clinic in Tempe and participated in the Rainbow Connection Integrated choir during my freshman year. After completing my first year of college, I decided to transfer to Utah State University, and moved to Logan, UT in 2014. The wonderful professors, supervisors, and students I have been able to work with at USU have impacted me in only positive ways. Field experience that I have in Logan includes a high school special education classroom and a preschool for children with hearing disabilities. The summer following my sophomore year I went on a music therapy study abroad trip to Thailand through the University of Kansas. There I worked with Thai clients in hospitals, rehab centers and an orphanage. I collaborated with Thai music therapy students at Mahidol University and studied with Dr. Dena Register and Dr. Russell Hilliard. Through this experience I received twenty-five clinical hours and they are hours I will never forget. This study abroad is what has shaped my perspective and philosophy of music therapy.
Currently, I am a junior at Utah State University and would like the opportunity to serve as the President-elect, and later President, of WRAMTAS. I believe that my experiences and motivation to go above and beyond expectations will serve the association well. Music therapy is my passion and I would love to be more involved with the associations that help it flourish.

- Hello, fellow music therapy student! As the treasurer on your WRAMTAS Executive Board, I would love to create even more scholarship and fundraising opportunities to support the students of the western region. I have had experience in handling the funds of an organization by being the director of the Friends of the Elderly group through USU’s Val R. Christensen Service Center. With that position, I was given a small budget to work with to provide two intergenerational activities each week for the entire school year. This required much creativity with both planning activities and how to fund them, and due to my ability to reach out and use all the resources I had available, I finished the year with only spending half of my given budget. With these experiences, I plan on being as creative and resourceful as possible to make sure that everything I am doing is to support you as the student. When it comes to being an influence on the board, I will be a voice for increasing the relationship between each university so we can have better networking opportunities and be more aware of the way this profession is growing through each of us. Thank you for your time!

- Hello Everyone,
My name is Mark Sarris and I want to be your next parliamentarian. I feel like I am qualified for this position because I am familiar with writing by-laws and Roberts rules of order. I am familiar with these aspects because I am involved in two fraternities at the University of the Pacific, in which they both use Roberts rules of order.
I also want to help improve WRAMTAS. I want to help connect the student board to the professional board, as well as connect to the national board. I want to make sure all students of the western region are more informed of what is happening on the regional level as well as the national level.
Thank you for your time, and I hope you will vote for me!

- I am a junior at Utah State University. In the 2014-15 school year I was the Publicist for the USU Music Therapy Association. In a project for school I have been focusing on the use of social justice in music therapy. As parliamentarian I would focus on ensuring the rules are not only kept but reflect inclusiveness of all individuals in the organization. I want to ensure that the board and amtas are democratic in their approach. I also would love to hear any issues that we could address through changing the rule book. I think we have made a lot of progress in being inclusive towards all individuals and I would like to influence the board to be even more inclusive.
